Welcome to the Big Bear Valley Democratic Club!

change.jpg

Big Bear Valley is situated deep in the heart of the San Bernardino Mountains of Southern California about two hours east of Los Angeles.  Big Bear Valley is a beautiful mountain resort. However, we lie right smack in the middle of red territory.  Big Bear Democrats of the Big Bear Valley represent Democrats in Big Bear Lake, Big Bear City, Sugarloaf, and Fawnskin.

We hope the 2008 election of President Obama will inspire you to join us so that we can bring about change right here in Big Bear Valley!

Town Forum

The Democratic Club of Big Bear Valley

is  hosting a candidate forum
for the position of Supervisor of the 3rd District
on Tuesday April 3rd at 6:30PM.
The forum will be held at the Masonic Lodge at 385 Summit Blvd, just north of the courthouse.

The candidates currently running for Supervisor are:
 the incumbent Mr. Neil Derry
Mr. James Ramos
Mr. Jim Bagley

Everyone, regardless of political persuasion, is  invited and encouraged to attend.  Written questions will be taken from the audience the night of the forum; however, you are invited  to submit questions beforehand.  Early questions have a better chance of being presented to the candidates.

.  To help you formulate those questions it might interest you to know that the 3rd District covers over 20,000 square miles of territory and, besides the entirety of the Big Bear Valley, includes areas as broadly diverse as Barstow, Highland, Joshua Tree, Loma Linda, Redlands, Twentynine Palms, and Yucca Valley.  The Board of Supervisors are the principle governing body of the County and are responsible for county staffing and setting priorities for use and distribution of a budget of over $4 billion.

There are a number of ways to ask your question.  You can e-mail it to bbvdemclub@gmail.com, use our website: www.bigbearvalleydemocrats.org.  Or you can call it in at (818) 632-8152 and leave a message.  You can mail it in to: The DCBBV, PO Box 6757, Big Bear Lake, CA 92315.  Finally, you can find us on Facebook under “Big Bear Valley Democrats.”

Your written questions might include the following:

  Name (optional)
 Place of residence (required):

 Issues you are concerned about

A specific question

Possible questions for all candidates

But whether you submit or ask questions or not, it is most important that you be present at this historic event.  Please, mark the date, April 5, 6:30 pm at the Masonic Lodge, as a must-do activity.  Informed citizens can make good decisions.   It's the American way!   See you at the Forum.

GRIDLOCK IN WASHINGTON: Can the President get anything passed?
